Mon Nov 11 07:25:26 UTC 2024: ## Bengaluru’s New Art Space Merges Furniture and Fine Art

**Bengaluru, November 11, 2024:** DTALE ARCHIST, a new art gallery housed within a high-end furniture boutique, has opened its doors in Bengaluru, showcasing a unique blend of contemporary art and design. The gallery, curated by renowned artist Bose Krishnamachari, aims to break down the barriers between art practices, fostering a space where architects, designers, and artists can collaborate and exhibit their work.

The inaugural exhibition, titled “ARCHIST (I),” features a diverse selection of works by 10 artists, including collages, paintings, illustrations, and installations. Each piece reflects the surrounding environment, creating a cohesive dialogue between art and design.

One standout piece is “Koottu” by Tony Joseph, a modular furniture piece that doubles as functional art, representing the concept of gathering and fellowship. Meanwhile, Harisha Chennangod’s large-scale abstract paintings showcase his meticulous attention to detail, while Sunil Padwal’s work explores the interplay of nostalgia and contemporary storytelling using found objects and old books.

“I do not believe in thematic shows,” says Bose, explaining his curatorial vision. “I find talent, ambition, and great works. That is how I like to pick my artists.”

The gallery’s design, a minimalist white cube space, allows the artwork to take center stage. DTALE ARCHIST plans to host exhibitions every 45 days, showcasing a diverse range of artistic talent. The gallery’s unique approach to presenting art in a retail setting promises to be a refreshing addition to the Bengaluru art scene.

“ARCHIST (I)” is on display at DTALE, 693/1 ITPL, main road, Whitefield until November 15. Admission is free.
