**Vemulapalli, Nalgonda, November 11, 2024:** Farmers in Nalgonda district staged a protest in front of rice mills in Vemulapalli on Monday, alleging that millers are colluding to force them to sell paddy at prices lower than the Minimum Support Price (MSP). The protest disrupted traffic on the Addanki-Narketpally highway as farmers sat on the road demanding government intervention.
Farmers accused rice millers of forming a syndicate and exploiting their situation. They demanded that the millers purchase paddy at the MSP and urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to intervene and ensure fair prices.
The agitating farmers also called for action against the Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, accusing him of failing to protect their interests.
The protest highlights the ongoing struggle of farmers in the region to receive fair prices for their produce and calls for stricter government regulations to prevent exploitation by middlemen.
