**Erode, November 11, 2024:** Erode District Collector Raja Gopal Sunkara has urged farmers to insure their paddy crops under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) to protect themselves against crop loss due to natural calamities, pests, or diseases during the current samba season.
The Collector, in a press release, stated that paddy is being cultivated on 28 firkas in the district. Farmers can insure their crops for a premium of ₹573 per acre. To register, they must visit commercial banks, cooperative societies, or common service centers in their area with necessary documents, including land records, seed sowing certificates, bank passbook photocopy, and Aadhaar card.
