Mon Nov 11 01:20:00 UTC 2024: ## Lions Declare Inactives for Texans Game, New Addition Za’Darius Smith Out

**DETROIT** – The Detroit Lions have announced their inactive players for their Week 10 matchup against the Houston Texans. The most notable absence is new acquisition Za’Darius Smith, who will not play in his first game with the Lions.

Smith, acquired via trade on Tuesday, was given a couple of days off following his bye week in Cleveland and joined the Lions for practice on Friday. However, reports surfaced Sunday morning that Smith was “not quite ready” to play this week, which has now been confirmed. While he’ll miss this game, Smith will have a full week of practice heading into Week 11, preparing him for the home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Lions are able to expand their game-day roster to 48 players this week due to having eight offensive linemen active. With 55 players on the roster, the Lions are required to declare only seven players inactive.

Despite Smith’s absence, the Lions will look to build on their recent success against the Texans.
