Cricket Australia confirmed the 21-year-old has fractured his fourth metacarpal and will be unavailable for the T20I series. A replacement for Connolly will be announced in due course.
The injury comes as a blow for Connolly, who was considered a strong contender for a spot in the 2026 T20 World Cup squad. The left-arm spinner’s impressive finishing skills and ability to contribute with a few overs made him a valuable asset to the team.
