During the pre-release event of his upcoming film “Matka,” actor Varun Tej made a statement that has sparked speculation about a rift within the Konidela family. While thanking those involved in the film, Varun Tej deviated from the script, stating, “If anybody asks why I only speak about my pedananna, my brother, and babai, I reply that it is my responsibility and right to do so. I always believe that one may become big or not in life, but where he started and where he came from shouldn’t be forgotten. Your success has no value if you forget your roots and the support of those behind you.”

While Varun Tej presented this as a matter of fact, many have interpreted his words as a subtle jab at his cousin, fellow actor Allu Arjun. The two have reportedly been estranged, with a noticeable gap between Allu Arjun and the rest of the Konidela family.

“Matka,” directed by Karuna Kumar, is set for a grand release worldwide on November 14th.
