**Chennai, November 11, 2024:** Veteran Tamil actor Delhi Ganesh passed away in his sleep on Saturday night at the age of 80. He was known for his versatile roles, having acted in over 400 films across languages like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. He was also a popular face on television, having starred in several serials.
Ganesh, who resided in Ramabur, Chennai, was known for his impactful performances in both comedic and villainous roles. He earned recognition for his work in films like “Towri Kalyanam,” “Pasi,” “Sindhu Bairavi,” “Nayagan,” and “Avai Shanmughi,” among many others. His recent appearance was in the film “Indian 2.”
He was honored with the State Government Award for his performance in “Pasi” and was also a recipient of the Kalaimani Award. The actor was also presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the South Indian Film Artists’ Association a few months ago.
The news of Ganesh’s passing sent shockwaves through the Tamil film industry and beyond. Numerous prominent personalities from the world of cinema, politics, and beyond expressed their condolences and tributes to the actor. Ganesh is survived by his wife, Tangam, and his children: daughters, Picchu and Sarada, and son Mahadevan, who made his acting debut in the film “Ennul Aayiram,” which was produced by Ganesh himself.
