**Bridgetown, Barbados:** The West Indies secured a resounding 2-1 series victory over England in the third and final ODI at Kensington Oval, thanks to centuries from Keacy Carty and Brandon King.
Carty, in a blistering 97-ball innings, achieved a maiden century for the West Indies, becoming the first player from St Maarten to do so. His knock, coupled with King’s century, helped the duo establish a record-breaking 209-run partnership, the highest ever ODI stand between West Indies and England.
England’s innings began disastrously, losing four wickets within the powerplay. While Phil Salt’s patient half-century and Dan Mousley’s inventive maiden fifty helped salvage the score, injuries within the West Indies bowling attack allowed England to stage a late surge.
Despite the late resurgence, the West Indies chase was swift and clinical. King blasted his way to a 60-ball half-century and, despite surviving a near catch, went on to score his third ODI century. Carty, in a measured yet powerful innings, reached his century with a stylish shot to third man.
Earlier in the match, tempers flared when Alzarri Joseph expressed displeasure with skipper Shai Hope’s fielding setup. The incident seemed to fuel Joseph, who delivered a fierce bouncer that ultimately dismissed Jordan Cox.
While England’s lower order put up a fight, the West Indies’ chase showed why both captains had opted to bowl first, with Hope’s seamers taking advantage of early conditions and Carty and King leading a dominant victory.
Both teams will now compete in a five-match T20I series, starting on November 9.
