**HYDERABAD, INDIA – November 10, 2024** – The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Hyderabad police conducted a raid on Saturday at Hotel Akshaya in Lakdi-ka-pul, uncovering a brothel operation run by a Bangladeshi couple.
Police apprehended three individuals, including a 27-year-old customer, and rescued three women, aged 20, 21 and 22, from West Bengal, Assam, and Hyderabad respectively.
The arrested couple, identified as 36-year-old Salim Mondal and his wife Maria Imchen, were operating the brothel out of rooms 104 and 204 in the hotel. The couple resided at the Tranquil Abode Apartment in Narsingi.
AHTU is actively pursuing Suman Kumar Guru alias Ravi Kumar, believed to be the mastermind behind the trafficking ring, responsible for bringing women from Bangladesh.
During the raid, a small amount of cannabis and mobile devices were seized and handed over to Saifabad police, along with the arrested suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
