**Chattanooga, TN -** The opening week of the college basketball season brought mixed results for local teams.
The University of Tennessee Volunteers (Vols) will face a tough test this Saturday, November 9th, as they travel to Louisville for a noon tip-off on the ACC Network.
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) women’s basketball team will have a busy weekend, with two games scheduled. They will face North Carolina Central on Monday, November 11th, at 5:30 p.m. followed by a matchup against Austin Peay at 8 p.m. on ESPN+.
Meanwhile, the Cleveland State women’s basketball team suffered their first conference loss of the season, falling 71-51 to Jackson State on Saturday. The Cougars will look to bounce back in their next game.
The Covenant College women’s basketball team opened the Mountaintop Madness tournament with a decisive 87-69 victory over Warren Wilson on Friday. However, the Covenant men’s team fell to Oglethorpe in their tournament opener.
