**New Delhi, November 10, 2024:** India dominated the air pistol events at the World University Shooting Championship in New Delhi, securing two team golds and a silver in the men’s individual event.
While Palak Gulia, the Asian Games gold medalist, narrowly missed out on the women’s air pistol gold, losing by a mere 0.3 points to Heng-Yu Liu of Chinese Taipei, her teammate Arshdeep Kaur secured the bronze medal.
In the men’s competition, Aakash Bhardwaj won the silver medal after falling short of qualification topper Pavel Schejbal of the Czech Republic. Though Samrat Rana and Amit Sharma also made the final, they were unable to secure a podium finish.
However, the Indian teams dominated the team competitions, comfortably winning both the men’s and women’s gold medals. This strong performance sets the stage for the host nation’s success in the upcoming events.
