Sun Nov 10 05:44:06 UTC 2024: ## Pakistan’s Naseem Shah Suffers Cramps, Australia Wins First ODI
Melbourne, Australia – Pakistan’s fast bowler Naseem Shah was forced to leave his over early during the first ODI against Australia due to cramps. The 21-year-old, who has been experiencing pain since the incident, is expected to recover in time for the second ODI on November 8.
Mohammad Hasnain filled in for Naseem to complete the over, while the young pacer still managed to take one wicket and concede 39 runs. Despite his discomfort, Naseem showed his versatility by scoring 40 runs off 39 balls with the bat, including a boundary and four sixes.
However, despite Naseem’s efforts, Pakistan fell short, losing to Australia by two wickets. Australia, chasing a modest target, struggled initially but Pat Cummins’ composed innings steadied the team, guiding them to 204 for 8 in 34 overs.
Pakistan’s bowlers performed well, with Haris Rauf taking three wickets, Shaheen Afridi two, and both Naseem and Hasnain contributing one wicket each. However, a high count of extras cost Pakistan dearly, with the bowlers conceding 21 extras, including 17 wides and four leg byes.
Pakistan will travel to Adelaide tomorrow in hopes of leveling the series in the second ODI on November 8.
