Sun Nov 10 08:41:14 UTC 2024: ## Congress Slams BJP for “Urban Naxalism” Accusation, Says Modi Presented Similar Red Book to President

**Nagpur, November 10, 2024:** Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP for accusing the party of supporting “urban Naxalism” due to the use of a red book containing the Constitution. Kharge asserted that Modi himself presented a similar red book to former President Ram Nath Kovind in 2017.

Kharge made these remarks during a press conference in Nagpur, after the launch of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) manifesto for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. He was responding to BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis’ recent claims that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was seeking support from “urban Naxals” by holding a red book.

“The red handbook is only used for reference and it is not the entire Constitution,” Kharge clarified, displaying a picture of Modi presenting a similar red book to Kovind. He also presented a red book of the Constitution, emphasizing that it was not blank, as was being projected by the BJP.

“It is necessary to enroll him in a primary school again,” Kharge quipped, targeting the Prime Minister for his claims.

The Congress leader also highlighted the importance of defeating the ruling alliance in Maharashtra and supporting the MVA for ensuring stability and good governance. He described the MVA’s manifesto as all-inclusive and participatory.
