Sat Nov 09 23:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Trump Projected to Win Georgia, Flipping State Back to Red

**ATLANTA, GA -** Former President Donald Trump is projected to win Georgia, according to ABC News, marking a significant shift for the state that voted blue for the first time in decades in the 2020 presidential election. The victory delivers Georgia’s 16 electoral votes to Trump.

While Trump won the state in 2016, he did so by a smaller margin than previous Republican candidates. In 2020, President Joe Biden narrowly won Georgia, flipping the traditionally red state blue by a mere 12,000 votes out of over 5 million cast. Trump challenged the results of the 2020 election, leading to a hand recount that confirmed Biden’s victory. Currently, Trump faces eight criminal charges in Georgia related to his alleged attempts to overturn the election results.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger declared Tuesday night that Trump’s lead was insurmountable, effectively ending the race. “It looks like this is pretty much done,” he stated. “I think the results are pretty well baked in.”

The win in Georgia further solidifies the state’s position as a key battleground in presidential elections. While Democrats successfully won both Senate runoff elections in 2020, giving them control of the Senate, there were no Senate races in Georgia this year.

Beyond the presidential race, other notable results emerged in Georgia. Democrat Lucy McBath won her fourth term in the House, while Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene secured reelection. Former Trump aide Brian Jack also emerged victorious in his first congressional race.
