Sun Nov 10 09:36:45 UTC 2024: ## Israeli Airstrike Kills 30 Palestinians, Including 13 Children, as UN Warns of “Famine” in Gaza

**Gaza City, Palestine** – A devastating Israeli airstrike on a building housing displaced Palestinians in the Jabalia refugee camp has left at least 30 people dead, including 13 children. The attack, which occurred early Sunday morning, completely destroyed the Alloush family home, according to the Wafa news agency.

Witnesses described scenes of chaos and devastation, with many residents trapped under the rubble. Al Jazeera correspondent Hani Mahmoud reported that the strike occurred without warning, despite the presence of drones and fighter jets in the area.

The Israeli military claims it is targeting Hamas fighters in its ongoing offensive in northern Gaza, which began on October 6th. However, human rights groups have condemned the attacks, highlighting the disproportionate number of civilian casualties, particularly women and children. The UN human rights office (OHCHR) reported that nearly 70% of the verified deaths in Gaza are women and children.

Adding to the dire situation, the head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, warned of a looming “famine” in northern Gaza. The Israeli military’s siege of the enclave, coupled with the relentless bombardment, has severely restricted the flow of humanitarian aid and essential supplies.

The international community has expressed growing concern over the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Calls for a ceasefire and a peaceful resolution to the conflict have intensified as the death toll continues to rise.
