**Hartford, CT** – Avelo Airlines officially opened its base at Bradley International Airport (BDL) today, launching four new domestic routes and announcing an additional three routes starting next week.
The airline kicked off its service with flights to Charlotte/Concord and Wilmington in North Carolina. Tomorrow, Avelo will add flights to Daytona Beach and Orlando/Lakeland in Florida.
Next week, Avelo will expand its reach to Houston, Texas, and initiate its first scheduled international flights to Cancun, Mexico, and Montego Bay, Jamaica. All routes will operate twice a week.
“We are thrilled to see Avelo’s first flights depart from Bradley International Airport,” said Kevin A. Dillon, Executive Director of the Connecticut Airport Authority. “This expansion strengthens our route network, offering travelers more options and convenience.”
Avelo’s arrival at BDL marks a significant step in the airport’s development, providing passengers with more affordable and convenient travel options. The airline’s base opening was celebrated by Avelo COO Greg Baden, Connecticut Airport Authority officials, local representatives, and city council members.
