Sat Nov 09 20:23:54 UTC 2024: ## Maruti Suzuki Dzire Achieves 5-Star Safety Rating in Global NCAP Tests

**New Delhi, India:** The highly anticipated fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire has achieved a remarkable 5-star safety rating in the Adult Occupant Protection category by Global NCAP, cementing its position as the safest Maruti car to date. The car also received a commendable 4-star rating in the Child Occupant Protection category.

This achievement comes after a significant update to the Dzire, which now boasts standard features including six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and compliance with pedestrian protection norms. Other notable safety additions include hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, brake assist, three-point seatbelts for all seats, rear defogger, and Isofix mounts. The new Dzire also benefits from a robust structure built using 45% high tensile steel, based on the latest fifth-generation Heartect platform.

The outgoing Dzire, in comparison, received only a 2-star rating in both adult and child categories. This stark contrast highlights the significant efforts made by Maruti Suzuki to prioritize safety in the new model.

The 2024 Dzire, powered by a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 81.58PS and 111.7Nm, is expected to launch in India on November 11th. It will be offered with 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT transmissions. The price is expected to range from Rs 6.99 lakh to Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).

The new Dzire’s stellar safety rating is a significant milestone for Maruti Suzuki, particularly in light of the recent criticisms regarding the safety performance of other Maruti models. The company’s commitment to improving safety standards is evident in the Dzire’s impressive performance, positioning it as a strong contender in the competitive compact sedan segment.
