Sun Nov 10 02:10:00 UTC 2024: ## Maruti Suzuki Dzire Achieves 5-Star Safety Rating in Global NCAP Crash Tests
**New Delhi, India:** In a landmark achievement, Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming Dzire model has secured a five-star safety rating in the adult occupant protection category in Global NCAP crash tests, marking the first time a Maruti Suzuki car has achieved this feat.
The new Dzire, set to launch in India on November 11th, also received a four-star rating for child occupant protection. The car scored 31.24 out of 34 points for adult safety and 39.20 out of 49 points for child safety.
Maruti Suzuki, known for prioritizing safety in its vehicles, voluntarily submitted the 2024 Dzire for testing by Global NCAP. The new model boasts an array of safety features, including six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), pedestrian protection, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, brake assist, and Isofix mounts. Its structure is constructed with 45% high-tensile steel and is based on the latest Heartect platform (fifth generation).
Global NCAP praised the Dzire 2024’s stable structure and footwell area. While the driver’s chest exhibited marginal protection in the frontal impact test, full head protection was observed in the pole test. The side impact test indicated full protection for adult occupants.
The new Dzire is powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine, also featured in the 2024 Swift, producing 81.58PS of power and 111.7Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automatic.
Beyond safety, the new Dzire is equipped with several comfort and convenience features, including LED headlights, LED rear lamps, 15-inch alloy wheels, a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera, automatic AC, cruise control, electric sunroof, and rear AC vents.
The price of the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire is expected to range from Rs. 6.99 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with rivals like the Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze, and Tata Tigor.
