**Ranchi, India:** In preparation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Ranchi on Friday, the Ranchi Municipal Corporation conducted a large-scale anti-encroachment drive. The drive, which began at Pandra and continued through Piska More, Ratu Road Chowk, Argora, and Birsa Chowk, resulted in the seizure of over half a dozen street vendors and the dismantling of more than a dozen shops operating illegally along the roadside. The drive focused on clearing encroachments that were obstructing pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
The drive is a part of the ongoing efforts by the municipality to maintain cleanliness and order in the city, especially in anticipation of prominent visits.
