Fri Nov 08 18:04:58 UTC 2024: ## Sanju Samson Makes History With Back-to-Back T20 Centuries

**Durban, South Africa:** Sanju Samson created history in the first T20I against South Africa, smashing his second consecutive T20 century. The flamboyant batsman reached the milestone in just 47 balls, making him the first Indian to achieve this feat in international T20 cricket.

Samson’s blistering knock included 7 fours and a staggering 10 sixes, ultimately ending his innings on 107 off 50 balls. This century catapulted him into the third position on the list of most T20 centuries for India, tying him with KL Rahul with two centuries each. Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav lead the list with four centuries apiece.

Samson’s first T20 century came against Bangladesh earlier this month. Now, he has replicated that performance, becoming only the fourth batsman in the world to achieve consecutive T20 centuries. He joins an elite group including Gustav Mackon, Riley Rossouw, and Phil Salt, all of whom accomplished this feat in previous years.

Samson’s blistering innings also included a record-breaking 10 sixes, matching the highest ever recorded by an Indian batsman in a T20I match, previously set by Rohit Sharma in 2017.

Despite his explosive performance, Samson was dismissed shortly after reaching the century mark. However, his innings have undoubtedly strengthened his claim for a permanent spot in the Indian T20I team.

With this performance, Samson continues to showcase his potential as a key player for Team India. His impressive batting prowess and ability to strike at a phenomenal rate are a valuable asset to the team, and his recent achievements suggest that he will continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the future.
