Maruti Suzuki, known for its reliable and affordable vehicles, is gearing up to launch the much-awaited fourth generation of its compact sedan, the Desire, on November 11th. This new model is expected to compete with the likes of Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor, and Honda Amaze, which currently dominate the market segment.
The new Desire boasts a host of aesthetic and technological upgrades. Its design features a new front fascia with sleek rectangular LED headlamps, a modern bumper, a seven-slat grill, and a redesigned rear bumper with updated taillights. The car also comes with 15-inch eight-spoke alloy wheels and 185/65 R15 tyres.
The interior has also been revamped, featuring a new dashboard layout, an analog instrument cluster with an MID screen, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and an electric sunroof. In terms of features, the car offers automatic climate control, rear AC vents, a cup holder-equipped rear armrest, dual charging ports in the rear, a front wireless charger, and a 360-degree camera system.
Powering the new Desire is a 1.2-liter three-cylinder Z series petrol engine generating 80 bhp and 112 Nm of torque. The car is available with a 5-speed manual transmission or an AMT.
