**Hyderabad, November 9, 2024:** Senior leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), T. Harish Rao, has slammed the Telangana government for prioritizing political campaigning in other states over addressing pressing issues in their own state.
In a statement on Saturday, Mr. Rao accused the Chief Minister and Ministers of neglecting the welfare of farmers, students and local authorities while busy campaigning for elections elsewhere. He pointed out that paddy and cotton farmers are facing difficulties getting the promised support prices and are forced to sell their produce at a loss.
Furthermore, Mr. Rao highlighted the plight of sarpanches whose terms have expired and are now struggling to repay loans taken to construct gram panchayat buildings due to delayed payments from the government. He also reminded the ruling party of their pre-election promises of enhanced honorariums for sarpanches, MPTC, and ZPTC members, which remain unfulfilled.
Mr. Rao’s statement underscores the BRS’s criticism of the ruling party’s focus on national politics at the expense of local concerns.
