Fri Nov 08 18:07:28 UTC 2024: ## ITI Limited Wins Bid for BharatNet Phase-3 in Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands

**Bengaluru, November 8, 2024:** ITI Limited, India’s first public sector undertaking (PSU) and a prominent telecom manufacturing company, has been awarded the contract for BharatNet Phase-3 in Himachal Pradesh (Package 8) and West Bengal, Sikkim, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands (Package 9). The consortium led by ITI emerged as the lowest bidder, securing the project worth ₹3,022 crore.

The BharatNet project aims to provide high-speed broadband internet connectivity to all 6,40,000 villages, blocks, and gram panchayats across India. ITI’s success in the bid signifies its commitment to bridging the digital divide in rural India.

“We are thrilled to be part of this prestigious nation-building project,” expressed Rajesh Rai, Chairman and Managing Director of ITI Limited. He highlighted the project’s potential to empower rural communities by creating jobs, opportunities, and fostering growth.

“High-speed internet will be a game-changer for students in rural areas,” Mr. Rai added, emphasizing the project’s impact on education and access to digital resources.

ITI Limited boasts extensive experience in executing optical fiber network (OFN) projects for BharatNet across India. They are currently undertaking OFN projects worth ₹5,400 crore in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Gujarat.

This latest win further solidifies ITI Limited’s position as a key player in India’s digital infrastructure development. The company’s expertise and commitment to bridging the digital divide are expected to contribute significantly to the success of BharatNet Phase-3.
