**Anantapur, November 9, 2024:** Anantapur District Collector Vinod Kumar V. has expressed confidence that the district can become a national leader in the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar scheme. Addressing the inaugural event of the PM Surya Ghar mela held at the APSPDCL office on Saturday, the Collector highlighted the district’s favorable climate for solar power generation, characterized by low rainfall and high temperatures.
He urged residents to take advantage of the scheme’s subsidies to install solar rooftop systems, which would significantly reduce electricity bills. Mr. Vinod Kumar emphasized the district’s potential to achieve top rank not just at the state level, but also at the national level. He called upon officials, residents, and bank representatives to work collaboratively to achieve this goal.
The Collector directed officials to implement the scheme in a mission mode across the city and all 32 mandals of the district. He stressed the need for effective communication of the scheme’s benefits to the public by government and bank officials. Mr. Vinod Kumar concluded by emphasizing the importance of utilizing both rainwater and solar energy optimally.
