Sat Nov 09 14:55:12 UTC 2024: ## Tirumala Temple Celebrates Vibrant Pushpa Yagam Festival

**TIRUMALA, November 9, 2024** – The annual Pushpa Yagam festival at the Tirumala temple of Lord Venkateswara was celebrated with great fervor on Saturday. Devotees from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka donated an impressive nine tonnes of aromatic flowers, which were used in the elaborate ritual.

The day began with the traditional ‘Snapana Thirumanjanam’, where Lord Malayappa and his consorts were bathed in holy waters. The main Pushpa Yagam ceremony took place later in the afternoon, with the deities seated on a high golden altar. Priests chanted sacred verses as they showered the deities with fragrant flowers. This process was repeated 18 times, with the floral mounds reaching the deities’ chins before being cleared.

Prior to the ceremony, a grand procession carried the flowers from the garden office to the temple, led by TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary and over 300 Srivari seva volunteers and employees. The vibrant display of colors and the spiritual atmosphere made the Pushpa Yagam a truly memorable experience for all who witnessed it.
