Sat Nov 09 15:12:10 UTC 2024: ## No Evidence of Stolen Election: 2024 Vote Count Continues Despite Conspiracy Theories

Following the 2024 presidential election, social media platforms have been flooded with claims of widespread election fraud, with some alleging that millions of Democratic votes “disappeared.” These claims, which echo similar unsubstantiated allegations made after the 2020 election, have been debunked by election experts and officials.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has stated unequivocally that there is no evidence of any malicious activity impacting the security or integrity of the election infrastructure. CISA Director Jen Easterly affirmed that the election process remains secure and that officials are diligently counting votes.

Similarly, Common Cause, a nonpartisan public advocacy group, has confirmed that they have observed no evidence of hacking or vote manipulation. Their teams, stationed across the country at polling sites and vote-counting centers, report no incidents of widespread fraud or any “nefarious activity” to change vote totals.

Experts highlight that fluctuations in voter turnout are common and can be attributed to various factors, including candidate enthusiasm and the overall competitiveness of the election. While some social media posts claim that 20 million votes vanished, experts emphasize that these figures simply reflect a natural decrease in voter turnout compared to previous elections.

Despite these reassurances, the spread of misinformation remains a concern. Election officials and experts urge voters to rely on credible sources for information and to be cautious about unsubstantiated claims circulating online.

“Election denial is antidemocratic,” states David Becker, executive director of the Center for Election Innovation and Research. “We will know the full turnout once the votes are certified by the states, in a few weeks.”

As the official vote count continues, it’s crucial to rely on accurate information and to avoid spreading baseless claims that undermine the integrity of our democratic process.
