**Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh**: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Ghazipur police have arrested a man with 1.1 kg of illegal ganja in his possession. The accused, identified as Amrit Kumar (26), was apprehended near Nayakdih Masandi bridge on Friday.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by U.N.I. Sarvjeet Yadav conducted the operation and apprehended the accused. Amrit Kumar is a resident of Tajeppur village under the jurisdiction of Sarayal Khansi police station in Mau district.
A case under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused at the local police station and further legal action is underway.
The arrest comes as part of the ongoing campaign against crime and criminals in the region.
