Fri Nov 08 09:00:22 UTC 2024: ## Kerala Ruling Party Alleges Congress Campaigning with Food Kits in Wayanad Bypoll

**WAYANAD, INDIA -** The ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala has accused the Congress party of attempting to influence voters in the upcoming Wayanad Lok Sabha byelection through the distribution of food kits bearing images of Congress leaders.

An election flying squad seized 28 such kits from a rice mill linked to a Congress leader in Tholpetty on Thursday, prompting the LDF to file complaints with the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Wayanad District Collector.

The confiscated kits, containing food items and clothing, featured stickers from both the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee and the Wayanad District Congress Committee, along with images of Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the UDF candidate for the Wayanad bypoll, and her brother, Rahul Gandhi.

C.K. Saseendran, the LDF Wayanad district convener and former MLA, alleged that the kits were part of a “deliberate effort to sway voters” and requested a full investigation into the incident.

The byelection for the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat is scheduled for November 13th.
