**Mumbai, India** – Ajay Devgn’s “Singham Again” continues its box office dominance, raking in over 173 crores in India within its first week of release. The film, directed by Rohit Shetty, is on track to cross the 200 crore mark in the coming week.
Despite facing competition from “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3,” “Singham Again” opened strong with a collection of 43.5 crores on its first day. The weekend saw further success with 42.5 crores on Saturday and 35.75 crores on Sunday. While collections dipped post-weekend, the film still managed to collect 18 crores on Monday, 14 crores on Tuesday, 10.5 crores on Wednesday and 8.75 crores on Thursday.
The film’s worldwide collection is expected to reach 250 crores in its second week. The film features a star-studded cast including Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Salman Khan. Arjun Kapoor, who plays the antagonist, has received critical acclaim for his performance.
While the film’s box office performance is impressive, the storyline has received mixed reviews.
Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh government has constituted a committee, headed by a retired High Court judge, to select the next DGP. The committee will base its decision on the remaining tenure, service records, and experience of the candidates. The new regulations mandate a minimum two-year term for the DGP with at least six months remaining before retirement at the time of selection. This step aims to reduce the central government’s role in the selection process.
