**Durban, South Africa:** Indian opener Sanju Samson made a sensational debut in the four-match T20 series against South Africa, smashing a century in the first match at Durban. This was Samson’s maiden century in T20 Internationals and his second overall in the shortest format.

The 34-year-old reached the milestone in just 47 balls, smashing 9 sixes and 7 fours in the process. His 107-run knock off 50 balls also included a blistering 37-ball 66-run partnership with Suryakumar Yadav for the second wicket.

Samson became the first Indian batsman to score back-to-back centuries in T20I matches. His previous century came against Bangladesh in Hyderabad on October 12th, 2024. He also set a new record as the fastest Indian batsman to score a century against South Africa in T20I matches.
