Fri Nov 08 08:35:23 UTC 2024: ## “Samosa Scandal” Rocks Himachal Pradesh: CID Probe Finds “Anti-Government Act”

**Shimla, Himachal Pradesh** – A seemingly minor incident of misplaced refreshments has sparked a political firestorm in Himachal Pradesh, with the state’s CID investigation labelling it an “anti-government act.”

The controversy centers around a batch of samosas and cakes intended for Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu during a visit to the CID headquarters on October 21. While the refreshments were meant for the CM, they were mistakenly served to his security staff.

According to the CID’s investigation report, an IG-rank officer instructed a sub-inspector to procure snacks from a local hotel for the Chief Minister’s arrival. However, due to a series of miscommunications and misinterpretations, the refreshments ended up with the security detail instead.

The investigation found that several police officers involved failed to clarify whether the snacks were meant for the CM, ultimately leading to the misdelivery. A senior CID official wrote in his report that the officers acted in an “anti-CID” and “anti-government” manner, suggesting they were deliberately attempting to undermine the Chief Minister.

This incident has been seized upon by the opposition BJP, who have accused the Congress government of being more concerned with the CM’s “samosa” than with the development of the state.

BJP spokesperson Randhir Sharma condemned the “anti-government” label as an overreaction, stating that the incident highlights serious coordination issues within the government machinery.

The “Samosa Scandal” has become a hot topic in Himachal Pradesh politics, raising questions about accountability and administrative efficiency within the state government.
