Fri Nov 08 10:24:53 UTC 2024: ## Samosa Scandal Rocks Himachal Pradesh: CID Probe Finds “Anti-Government Act”

**Shimla, November 8, 2024:** A seemingly simple case of misplaced refreshments has snowballed into a political controversy in Himachal Pradesh, with a CID investigation concluding that the incident was an “anti-government act.” The incident involved samosas and cakes intended for Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, which were mistakenly served to his security staff instead.

The incident occurred on October 21st during the Chief Minister’s visit to the CID headquarters. According to the enquiry report, three boxes of refreshments were ordered from Hotel Radisson Blue for Mr. Sukhu but were ultimately delivered to the MT section responsible for catering. The report states that a series of miscommunications and misunderstandings resulted in the refreshments being mistakenly redirected.

The CID investigation, however, took a dramatic turn when a senior official noted that all individuals involved in the incident had acted in an “anti-CID and anti-government manner.” The official accused those responsible for the mistake of acting with a “hidden agenda.”

The controversy has given the opposition BJP ample ammunition to attack the ruling Congress government. BJP spokesperson Randhir Sharma labeled the incident as a reflection of the government’s lack of focus on development, stating that “the state government is not concerned about the development of the state and its only concern seems to be the ‘Chief Minister’s Samosa.'”

The “Samosa Scandal” has become a hot topic in the state’s political circles, with the government facing embarrassment due to the perceived lack of coordination in managing a VVIP event. The incident underscores the often-delicate balance between protocol and political maneuvering, particularly in the context of high-profile officials.
