Fri Nov 08 14:24:31 UTC 2024: ## Pakistan Level Series with Resounding Win over Australia
**Adelaide, Australia:** Pakistan secured a dominant nine-wicket victory over Australia in the second ODI at the Adelaide Oval on Friday, leveling the three-match series at 1-1.
Star pacer Haris Rauf was the architect of the Australian collapse, taking a career-best 5-29, his second five-wicket haul in ODIs. The world champions were bundled out for a paltry 163 in 35 overs, their lowest ODI score against Pakistan.
Rauf’s performance was made even more impressive by the fact that he had played for the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League, giving him crucial insights into the Adelaide Oval pitch. He was well-supported by Shaheen Afridi, who took 3-26, and Mohammad Hasnain, who claimed the vital wicket of Steve Smith.
Pakistan’s wicketkeeper, Mohammad Rizwan, who was making his debut as captain in this series, was involved in six of the dismissals, equalling the world record for most dismissals by a wicketkeeper in a one-day international.
The chase was a stroll for Pakistan, led by an explosive 82-run knock by Saim Ayub, who struck six sixes in his innings. He shared a 137-run opening stand with Abdullah Shafique (64 not out) before Babar Azam finished the job with a six, securing Pakistan’s victory in just 26.3 overs.
The series will now move to Perth for the final ODI on Sunday.
