**Vijayawada, November 7, 2024:** NTR Police Commissioner S.V. Rajashekar Babu conducted a surprise inspection of the Nunna police station on Thursday, issuing a stern warning to officers to intensify efforts against drug trafficking and child sexual abuse.
Commissioner Babu directed the police to closely monitor the activities of ganja smugglers and peddlers, as well as individuals accused of child sexual abuse. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the “beat system” to effectively combat drug trafficking and smuggling.
The Commissioner also urged officers to focus on cybercrime and social media trolling, and to prevent the entry of criminals who have been externed from the city. He warned that negligence in duty would not be tolerated.
In addition to addressing crime, Commissioner Babu instructed officers to prioritize public grievances and ensure prompt response to complaints and petitions received through the Public Grievances Redressal System. He specifically emphasized the need for swift and decisive action against those involved in cases under the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences).
