Fri Nov 08 16:08:38 UTC 2024: ## Confusion Over Timetable Changes Leaves Passengers Stranded in Mangaluru
**Mangaluru, November 8, 2024:** Approximately 20 passengers missed the 12134 Mangaluru Junction-CSMT Superfast Express on Friday after relying on outdated information about the train’s departure time. The train left at 2 p.m. as per the new non-Monsoon timetable, which came into effect on November 1st over the Konkan Railway network.
The passengers had arrived at the station at 4 p.m., believing the train departed at 4.35 p.m. as per the Monsoon timetable. This confusion arose due to outdated information on various non-railway apps, which had not updated their schedules following the change in timetable.
Railway officials, who informed passengers that they should have checked official sources like the IRCTC website or app or the NETS website or app, were met with resistance from the passengers, who insisted they had checked the information.
The officials emphasized the importance of using only official sources for train timetable information, as the change in schedules during Monsoon and non-Monsoon seasons can lead to similar situations.
The Monsoon timetable on the Konkan Railway network is in effect from June 10th to October 31st, while the non-Monsoon timetable runs from November 1st to June 9th.
