Fri Nov 08 15:24:30 UTC 2024: ## SIDBI Urged to Boost Nellore’s Stalled MSME Clusters

**Nellore, November 8, 2024:** Nellore District Collector O. Anand has called upon the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) to provide more support to local Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the district. Speaking at the ‘MSME Cluster Outreach Programme’ in Nellore on Friday, Mr. Anand expressed concern over the slow progress of the three MSME clusters established in the district.

Mr. Anand urged SIDBI to provide financial assistance through its various schemes, help MSMEs identify better marketing strategies and expand their market reach, and assist farmers engaged in orange, mango, and other horticulture crops in accessing both domestic and international markets. He also requested technical support for aspiring entrepreneurs setting up large-scale orange and mango processing units.

Additionally, the District Collector suggested the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) encourage women manufacturers’ associations to leverage e-commerce platforms for online sales of their products.

SIDBI Hyderabad region general manager Vemuri Chandramouli assured that the organization is actively promoting lending to MSMEs by refinancing commercial banks and other financial institutions. He also highlighted SIDBI’s initiatives to support MSME participation in international exhibitions and provide seed capital and soft loans to help small-scale entrepreneurs sustain their businesses.
