**Sydney, Australia:** Indian cricketer KL Rahul and his wife, actress Athiya Shetty, have announced they are expecting their first child. The couple, who married in January 2023, shared the news on Instagram, posting a design featuring an evil eye symbol, golden stars, and the message “Our beautiful blessing is coming soon. 2025.”
Rahul is currently in Australia, representing India A against Australia A as part of his preparations for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He is also a part of the Indian cricket team squad for the five-Test series against Australia.
Meanwhile, former Indian batter Robin Uthappa has weighed in on the need for a more conventional batsman in the Indian Test lineup for the challenging tour of Australia. Uthappa believes that KL Rahul or Abhimanyu Easwaran could fill this role, while also advocating for the inclusion of veteran Cheteshwar Pujara.
Uthappa expressed concern about the current Indian batting lineup, dominated by stroke players, and highlighted the need for a player who can play a more defensive, traditional Test match style. He believes that Rahul and Easwaran are the best options for this role, while also advocating for Pujara’s inclusion.
“We need someone defensive, someone who can play conventional, traditional Test cricket,” said Uthappa. “I don’t see anyone else who can take on that responsibility.”
