**Nalgonda:** TPCC President and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee Chief, Revanth Reddy, has launched a padyatra titled “Moosi Punarujjeeva Sankalpa Padayatra” to raise awareness about the pollution of the Musi river and demand action from the government.
The padyatra commenced from the Sangam-Bhimalingam-Dharmareddy Palem canal and continued till Nagireddipalli. During the walk, Revanth Reddy inspected the pollution levels in the Musi river and offered prayers at Bhimalingam. He also interacted with local fishermen, weavers, and farmers, understanding their concerns and the impact of the polluted river on their lives.
Addressing the gathering, Revanth Reddy accused the ruling BRS party of neglecting the Musi river and called out their hypocrisy for making promises without delivering on them. He questioned the BRS government’s commitment to improving the river’s condition, highlighting the dire situation and comparing it to a ticking time bomb.
Revanth Reddy condemned the ruling party’s attempts to deflect blame, asserting that the issue is not about personal gain but about the well-being of the people. He challenged the BRS to take responsibility for the river’s condition and urged them to act before it’s too late.
The TPCC chief also criticized the BJP’s silence on the matter, stating that they too are complicit in the neglect of the Musi river. He called upon both parties to be held accountable for their inaction and demanded a concrete plan for the rejuvenation of the river.
Revanth Reddy promised a grand finale to the padyatra in January, walking from Wadpalli to Charminar, inviting both KTR and Harish Rao to join him. He also announced a Rs. 2 crore project to rejuvenate the Bhimalingam temple and confirmed that the project design would be completed within 30 days.
The padyatra is a crucial step in Revanth Reddy’s campaign to highlight the environmental issues facing the state and to put pressure on the ruling party to take action. His bold statements and direct confrontation with the BRS and BJP have made this padyatra a significant event in the political landscape of Telangana.
