**NEW DELHI, November 8, 2024:** A highly decomposed body was discovered in the Okhla barrage on Thursday morning, casting a somber shadow on the Chhath celebrations taking place nearby.

The body was spotted by devotees gathered near the Kalindi Kunj flyover around 10:26 a.m., prompting them to call the Shaheen Bagh police station. Upon examination, the deceased was found wearing a rudraksh mala and carrying an ATM card belonging to Chokkala Sriniwas.

Initial investigations suggest that the deceased was a resident of Karimnagar, Telangana. Forensic analysis revealed that the death occurred approximately 15 days ago.

The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death and working to identify the individual.
