**New Delhi** – Bollywood star Arjun Kapoor, currently winning praise for his villainous role in “Singham Again”, has candidly discussed his battles with mental illness in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India.

Kapoor revealed that he was diagnosed with mild depression last year. He attributed the condition to the pressure of his career, explaining that he began to question his abilities and feel trapped in a cycle of self-doubt. He sought therapy, but found the initial sessions unhelpful until he connected with a therapist who allowed him to open up. This led to his diagnosis of mild depression.

The actor also spoke about his ongoing struggles with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid gland. Kapoor shared that he has been dealing with the condition since he was 30, and it has been a challenging journey. He further revealed that both his mother Mona Shourie Kapoor and sister Anshula Kapoor have also battled Hashimoto’s.

Kapoor acknowledged the impact of his health issues on his career, stating that his body’s physical trauma, combined with the pressure of his films not performing as well as he hoped, took a toll on his mental well-being.
