Fri Nov 08 02:46:03 UTC 2024: ## West Indies Coach Condemns Alzarri Joseph’s Outburst During England ODI
**Bridgetown, Barbados:** West Indies head coach Daren Sammy has publicly criticized fast bowler Alzarri Joseph’s behavior during the third ODI against England in Barbados.
Joseph was seen engaging in a heated argument with captain Shai Hope, culminating in him leaving the field at the end of an over. While he returned after calming down, Sammy expressed his disapproval of the incident.
“Behaviour like that is unacceptable on my cricket field,” Sammy told TalkSPORT. “We will be friends… but in the culture I’m trying to build, that’s unacceptable. We will definitely have a chat about that.”
Despite the outburst, Joseph redeemed himself by taking the wickets of Jordan Cox and Dan Mousley, contributing to West Indies’ eight-wicket victory and a 2-1 series win.
Sammy, appointed in May 2023, expressed pride in the team’s progress, despite acknowledging there’s still work to be done. He hinted at the return of senior players for the upcoming five-match T20I series against England, starting on November 9th.
“We’ve got a couple of senior players who were not in Sri Lanka that we expect to be back,” he said. “Our T20 team is our most successful team and our most settled team. So, yes, we incorporate some new guys to give them that exposure, but our T20 team normally picks itself.”
