**Durban:** India got off to a flying start in the first T20 match against South Africa, despite losing the toss and being asked to bat. At the end of eight overs, India were comfortably placed at 75 runs for the loss of just one wicket.
Sanju Samson was the star performer, smashing a half-century in a blistering innings. He reached 51 runs off just 28 deliveries. Suryakumar Yadav is also in good form, scoring 17 off 12 balls. The duo are currently at the crease.
Abhishek Sharma, who was the only wicket to fall, had a brief but explosive spell. He scored 7 runs off 8 balls before being caught by Aiden Markram off Gerald Coetzee’s bowling.
The young Indian squad, led by Suryakumar Yadav, is playing the series after the senior team, under Rohit Sharma, suffered a clean sweep in the recent Test series against New Zealand.
This T20 series features a mix of experienced and young talent, including Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, and Arshdeep Singh.
