Usha Chilukuri, an American lawyer of Indian descent, traces her roots to Andhra Pradesh. She holds a bachelor’s degree in History from Yale University and a master’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge. She met Vance at Yale Law School and the couple married in 2014, incorporating Hindu rituals in their wedding ceremony. They have three children together.

Chilukuri has been a constant presence throughout Vance’s political journey, actively supporting his campaigns and often appearing alongside him. Her appointment as Second Lady marks a significant milestone for the Indian-American community.
