**Dharmapuri, November 6, 2024:** The Tamil Nadu government has established three ragi procurement centers in Dharmapuri district as part of a pilot program to replace rice with ragi in the monthly quota for family card holders.

The Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation has set a monthly target of 930 tonnes of ragi procurement. The centers are strategically located in areas known for ragi production:

* Dharmapuri Regulated Marketing Warehouse, Thirupathur main road, Madhikonpalayam
* Pennagaram Taluk Agriculture Producers Cooperative Society building, Vannathipatty
* Harur Regulated Marketing warehouse, opposite Harur government hospital

The centers will be open from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Small and marginal farmers can register their produce by presenting valid documents, including their chitta, bank details, and Aadhaar card. The government will purchase ragi at a price of ₹4,290 per quintal (₹42.90 per kg), with payment made directly to the farmer’s bank account.
