Wed Nov 06 22:40:00 UTC 2024: ## Starbucks Unveils Festive Holiday Cups, New Menu Items to Kick Off the Season

**Seattle, WA** – Starbucks is officially ushering in the holiday season with the launch of its annual collection of festive cups. Beginning Thursday, customers across the US will be greeted with four unique designs featuring “familiar shades of Starbucks green and cranberry red paired with fondant-inspired soft pastels,” the company announced.

This year’s focus is on green, with Starbucks Creative Director Kristy Cameron highlighting its “spark of joy” for the holiday season. The four designs, each with a unique theme, include “joyful connection,” “lyrical landscape,” “Siren chorus,” and “warm wishes.” The cups feature a special area on the back for baristas to personalize with hand-written messages, a nod to CEO Brian Niccol’s push for a more human touch.

Beyond the cups, Starbucks is also introducing a new holiday menu featuring a “Cran-merry” orange drink, a turkey sage danish, a snowman cake pop, and a penguin-shaped cookie.

This move comes as Starbucks seeks to boost sales after reporting three consecutive quarters of declining sales and customer visits. Last quarter saw a 7% drop in global sales and an 8% decrease in customer transactions.

The festive cups and menu items are expected to generate excitement among loyal customers and hopefully contribute to an uptick in sales during the holiday season. This tradition of seasonal cups dates back to 1997, with Starbucks navigating occasional controversies, most notably in 2015 when the company opted for a simpler red cup design.

Starbucks’ holiday offerings, including the new cups and menu items, are available now at all US locations.
