Former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife, Akshata Murty, were seen enjoying a coffee break at the Third Wave Coffee outlet in Bangalore’s Jayanagar area on Wednesday. The couple, who are in town for official reasons, were spotted placing their coffee orders and then taking a seat at a table.
Sunak, known for his signature black trousers and white shirt, and Murty, in a simple pastel kurta, were quickly recognized by fellow customers. Many excitedly shared their encounters with the prominent couple on social media.
This sighting follows the couple’s visit to the Guru Raghavendra Mutt in Jayanagar on Tuesday. They were accompanied by Murty’s parents, NR Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murty, and took part in temple rituals during an auspicious period in the Kartik month.
Sunak served as the UK’s Prime Minister from October 2022 until his resignation in July 2024, becoming the first British-Indian leader to hold the position. He was succeeded by Keir Starmer, a former barrister and member of Parliament. Sunak’s time in office saw the Conservative Party suffer electoral setbacks, leading to his resignation.
