Thu Nov 07 12:43:06 UTC 2024: ## EPFO Launches Special Recovery Drive in Coimbatore to Collect Outstanding Dues

**Coimbatore, November 7, 2024:** The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has launched a special recovery drive in Coimbatore to collect outstanding dues from establishments that have failed to pay their contributions. The drive, which began in November 2024 and will continue until January 2025, targets both exempted and unexempted entities.

The EPFO district office in Erode has sent out recovery notices to all defaulters, demanding they settle their outstanding dues within 15 days of receiving the notice. Failure to comply could result in legal action under the EPF & MP Act, 1952.

According to the Act, the EPFO has the authority to take several measures against defaulters, including:

* Attaching and selling movable or immovable property of the establishment
* Appointing a receiver to manage these properties
* In certain cases, arresting and detaining the defaulters

The EPFO aims to secure compliance through these actions under the Revenue Recovery Act.

The District Office has urged employers who have received recovery notices (CP-1) to remit outstanding dues immediately to avoid facing legal action.
