**Mumbai, November 6, 2024:** NCP leader Praful Patel has expressed confidence in the Mahayuti alliance’s victory in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, dismissing concerns about a potential clash with the BJP’s Hindutva ideology.
Speaking at The Hindu Poll Arena conclave in Mumbai, Patel refuted speculations about a “ghar wapsi” scenario, stating that the BJP has evolved into a more inclusive party that prioritizes economic development and does not seek to disrupt the social fabric.
He also assured that his party, despite its alliance with the BJP, remains committed to the Shahu-Phule-Ambedkar ideology. Patel attributed the BJP’s shift to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who hails from the OBC community, and the RSS’s focus on economic growth.
Dismissing the impact of the recent Lok Sabha election results, Patel maintained that the Maharashtra Assembly elections would be a “settled election” where voters would focus on local issues.
He expressed confidence in the Mahayuti government’s success without relying on external support, highlighting the party’s strong performance in the upcoming elections.
Patel also addressed concerns regarding NCP leader Ajit Pawar’s comfort within the alliance, assuring that the party would expect fair treatment and a share in the government’s power even after the elections. He further affirmed his party’s support for Nawab Malik’s candidacy, despite the BJP’s opposition, emphasizing the principle of “innocent until proven guilty.”
Overall, Patel expressed unwavering optimism about the Mahayuti’s chances in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, citing a shift in the BJP’s approach and the alliance’s strength in the state.
