**New Delhi, India** – The 2024 US Presidential Election is coming to a close, with results expected to begin rolling in throughout the night and into Wednesday morning (IST). With former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris locked in a tight race, the outcome remains uncertain.
As of Sunday, national polling averages showed Harris holding a slight lead, with strong support among female voters. However, Trump gained ground with Hispanic voters, particularly men.
Voting began as early as September with mail-in ballots and early in-person voting. Over 74 million votes have already been cast nationwide, nearly half the total number cast in 2020.
Polls opened at 6am local time (4:30 pm IST) in most states and will close at 8pm local time. The key swing states of Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Nevada will hold the key to the election, with polls closing between 7pm and 10pm ET (5:30 am – 8:30 am IST).
