**New Delhi, November 6, 2024:** The Delhi Police have ruled out any communal angle in a stone-pelting incident near the Kali Mata temple in Jahangirpuri on Monday evening. The incident, which was captured on video, showed two groups of young boys clashing, leading to speculation of religious motives.
However, police investigations revealed that the individuals involved in the fight were all from the same community and had a history of similar altercations. Three of them have already been declared “children in conflict with law” under the Juvenile Justice Act.
The fight began on the street, escalating to stone-pelting inside the temple complex. Two juveniles sustained minor injuries and were later discharged from the hospital.
Police are investigating the incident, reviewing CCTV footage to identify those involved. They have also identified several social media accounts spreading misinformation about the incident, portraying it as a targeted attack on the temple. These accounts have been flagged for sharing selective footage and promoting communal disharmony. The cyber team is investigating these accounts and legal action will be taken against those involved in spreading false information.
